May 8–11, 2026 — A historic neighborhood at the foot of Lookout Mountain with the Incline Railway, Southern eats, and small-town charm.
One of the world's steepest passenger railways. Ride from the bottom station in St. Elmo up to Lookout Mountain for panoramic views of the Tennessee Valley. Runs every 20 minutes.
Coastal Southern cuisine in a warm, inviting space. Shrimp and grits, blackened catfish, and craft cocktails. A neighborhood favorite for date night or a relaxed dinner after the Incline.
Counter-service BBQ joint with pulled pork, ribs, and picnic-style sides. The banana pudding is legendary. Grab a tray and eat on the back patio when the weather's nice.
Chattanooga's signature scoop shop, right next to the Incline station. Handcrafted ice cream in flavors like Whiskey Caramel and Mocha Crunch. The perfect post-Incline treat.
Rotating craft beer taps and a laid-back patio on St. Elmo Avenue. Friendly vibe, board games, and regular food truck pop-ups on weekends.
Neighborhood green space with a playground, picnic tables, and open lawn. Quiet spot to unwind, let kids burn energy, or catch a community event. Leashed dogs welcome.
Stroll St. Elmo Avenue and the surrounding streets to see late-1800s storefronts, Victorian homes, and the restored freight depot. Pick up a walking map at the Incline station or just wander — the whole district is on the National Register.
Free street parking is available along St. Elmo Avenue and the side streets. The Incline Railway lot at 3917 St. Elmo Ave is free for riders but fills up by late morning on weekends — arrive early or plan to park a block away and walk. Most restaurants have their own small lots or adjacent street parking.
